How pathology training works in Netherlands

Training posts (AIOS) are held with university medical centres and affiliated laboratories. You need BIG registration first, which for non-EU applicants means diploma recognition, the AKV language and skills test and a professional competence assessment. There is no national match.

What you need

  • Diploma recognition
  • AKV test
  • Competence assessment
  • BIG registration
  • AIOS post with a training department

Listed programmes

We have verified the national pathway for Netherlands but do not yet list individually accredited programmes. Apply through the official routes on the right, and check the accrediting body's own directory.
